Common questions

The transcript is empty or thin. Keep your iPhone on the desk, facing the front, and as close to the speaker as you can. A phone in a bag or a pocket hears very little. Transcription needs a one-time download of Apple's speech model, which happens the first time you record.

Can I record in the background? Yes. Recording continues with the screen locked. If a phone call interrupts, Chalkdust pauses and picks up again when the call ends.

The notes got something wrong. Notes are written from the transcript, so a misheard word can carry through. Tap the line in the Transcript tab to hear what was actually said. Regenerate notes in the ⋯ menu makes a fresh attempt.

I subscribed but Pro isn't showing. Tap the person icon on the Courses screen and choose Restore purchases. Subscriptions belong to your Apple Account, so a reinstall or a new device just needs a restore.

How do I cancel? Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Chalkdust Pro, or Manage subscription in the app's account screen.
